The poster presents the results of a single-center randomized controlled trial on 207 atage 4 CKD patients aiming to compare the effectiveness and safety of two protein-restricted regimens (0.6 g/kg per day versus 0.3 g vegetarian/kg per day plus ketoanalogues) on CKD progression. Our results suggest that ketoanalogues supplementation allows for a nutritionally safe severe reduction in protein intake which could limit CKD progression by ameliorating its metabolic disturbances, and could defer dialysis initiation in patients with eGFR lower than 20mL/min. Intensive nutritional counseling and monitoring are necessary to ensure compliance and adherence.
